State-of-the-art Infrastructure

Ravindranath Tagore once said that knowledge is best obtained under the open skies, in the midst of nature. The SIIB campus enshrines Tagore's saying as it is surrounded by hills on either sides and it is pervaded by a sense of endless space and tranquility which makes it highly conducive for learning. This picturesque campus spread over five acres boasts of an auditorium, an indoor swimming pool, a well-equipped health and medical care center, an academic block which is of international standards and separate hostels for boys and girls along with the accommodation for the faculty.

Located in Pune Infotech Park, Hinjawadi, the students of SIIB get a feel of the corporate world from within the campus as it is surrounded by some of India's largest multinational companies in the mould of Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, TATA Technologies and many others.

Students also get a chance to relax and rejuvenate on campus as it offers some sports facilities and has an active film club. They also get a chance to further their interactions with each other through various cultural events throughout the year which further add a colorful touch.


Campus : SIIB has an ultra-modern administrative and academic campus of its own. The campus has dedicated spacious classrooms for each program with state-of-the-art, audio-visual teaching facilities, conference halls, discussions rooms and auditorium.

Library : An excellent library having access to more than 14000 books, 150 periodicals and 490 CDs & DVD’s on a wide variety of management subjects is available for students.

Computer Lab : A fully equipped computer laboratory is available to students for teaching as well as practice. Wi-Fi Internet connectivity is available in the academic and residential blocks.

Mess/Canteen : Mess facility and a well-stocked cafeteria are available on campus and all students are dining members of the mess.

Hostel : There are separate Hostels for Boys and Girls.

Health : A swimming pool and a state-of-the-art health club facility with Gym, aerobics and yoga are available for students. A residential Medical Officer stays on the campus.

The Academic Block caters to every requirement of the student and includes a students’ committee room, a common room, discussion rooms, a conference hall and an MDP center apart from the well-equipped classrooms.


The SIIB Library is a knowledge-hunter’s paradise and serves as a one-stop information source for material related to International Business, Agribusiness and Enery & Environment Management. Each student is issued a set of over 15 to 17 textbooks in select subjects. The library provides students access to over 46,568 books, 295 journals and also has a selection of 2050 CD ROMS/Videos on a wide variety of management subjects which enriches a student’s knowledge at Hinjewadi campus.

A well equipped and state-of-the-art Computer Lab houses over 100 nodes and is fully updated and web enabled. The students can access the computer network 24 hours and are provided with a leased line internet facility for online learning ensuring a continuous flow of information.

SIIB has its very own spacious auditorium which is capable of accommodating up to three hundred and fifty people.
The auditorium is generally the preferred venue for conducting guest lectures, workshops, seminars, inter college events and other programmes. It is fully air-conditioned and is equipped with ultra-modern equipment including professional audio and visual systems.


The SIFT library which was inaugurated in 1992 is today recognized as the SIIB library and is considered an integral part of all academic activities.
Over the years the library has managed to built-up a wonderful collection of more than 16000 books relevant to each subject which is being taught at the institute. With a subscription to over 100 well-known periodicals the library has become a one stop destination for any reference material as well as management books.

All the functions of SIIB Library are being done through computerized process. The member of the library has access to more than 40,000 E-Journals, more than 7 E-Databases and more than 100000 E-Books through SIU Library portal. Library has memberships of some well-known organizations like, MCCIA, AIMS, APICS, SHRM and NHRD ect.

Services

  1. CAS (Current Awareness Service):

    SIIB Library provides current events and news by sending current articles which contain news and events in the different areas, through scanning the same to all students, faculty and staff of SIIB. We call this best practice as ‘Current Knowledge’.

    All newly arrived books are displayed on the open rack at the stack room under the heading ‘New Arrivals’.

  2. ‘HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?’:

    Under the Gallery of ‘HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?’ in the Library, Library keep unutilized books on the separate rack, so that students / faculty can catch to read these unutilized books.

  3. Circulation:

    Each user is provided with 4 Library cards for issue of books & back dated issues of periodicals. Library book / Journal can be issued for 7 days period. After that if needed student can extend the home lending period.

  4. ILL (Inter Library Loan):

    Students can have access to the ILL facility from the sister institutes of Hinjavadi Campus – SCIT & SCMHRD. Students can issue a book or Journal from any of the Library from this campus on her/ his Library Card.


Collection and Resources

As mentioned previously the library boasts of a truly vast collection which consists of books, back volumes of periodicals, Annual Company Reports, Online databases, e-journals, CD ROMs, audio cassettes, all of which have open access, while the reference books are preserved in closed stacks and made available only on request.


Books

The books are arranged in a user friendly manner which grants easy access to our users. By using the Web OPAC facility one may find the availability status and exact location of a book.


Display of new books

All the new books are put on display on every Monday, for the duration of a week on an open rack in the library so as to notify the users of their presence and availability. They can be borrowed after the display period gets over.


Reference book collections

Reference books include encyclopaedias, dictionaries, and some rare and important and out of print books, which must be referred to only in the Reading Room. Reference books can only be taken out with prior permission.


Current Periodicals

The library subscribes to over a hundred periodicals, which are bifurcated as journals and magazines and are arranged alphabetically in the Reading Room. No current periodical can be taken outside the library without permission.


Back Volumes of Periodicals

The back volumes of periodicals are kept at the backside of the stack room and can be issued outside the library.


Non-book collections

Books aren’t the only items in the library. The library also has a huge collection of other important data in the form of company reports, annual publications by corporates and an equally well compiled electronic collection.


The campus has a dedicated Wi-Fi connected IT Resource center, a server room, an ICICI learning facility room with over 100 computers. The Academic Block and the hostels are fully equipped with round-the-clock Wi-Fi connectivity to enable continuous access. The IT Resource center is located on the 2nd floor of SIIB campus.

Residence / Hostel

The housing facilities on campus are very well designed and highly comfortable. The Students’ hostel is divided into two separate blocks for boys and girls. Rooms are spacious and well furnished with mattresses and curtains. They also come with an attached bathroom with hot water facility.The hostel has its own coffee shops,canteens, photocopy units and printer rooms. All the hostels have lifts, back-up power and Wi-Fi Internet connectivity which enables fast and round-the-clock Internet access. Each room accommodates three students.

Cafeteria & Dining Hall

The institute maintains high level of hygiene to make sure that the students are provided with good and healthy food at all times. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided on each and every day with regular changes in the menu as per the suggestions of our students.
But we all know taste-buds of some students are hard to be satisfied, for them also we have the solution. At Symbiosis hostel we have cafeteria, with full of hustle and bustle, tasty, delicious, spicy multi-cuisines. All you have to do is just “Order”....





B-school and hostel life can never be completed without sports. For that reason the campus has a Basket Ball court, Table tennis facility. The students of SIC campus make extensive use of the court. Cricket matches and football matches are the norm of the day as students find healthy ways to rejuvenate themselves. Table Tennis is a favourite haunt as the few breaks during an otherwise hectic schedule is fully utilised by students to play their favourite game.
Inter college cricket, SPL Tournament, Basketball, Badminton and Table Tennis matches are organised here from time to time.


The Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) provides an in-house modern, state-of-the-art Health Club and Fitness Center where students can train for strength, endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. The gym also comes with a trainer who can help the students with their specific training regimes. Gym stays open on all the weekdays. 4 Hrs in the morning and 4 hrs in the evening. Recently all the gym equipments have been replaced by Brand-New equipments.


Symbiosis campus also avails you with another amenity, that is, Aerobics. So all is set for you to keep our future managers "Fit and tough".

A health care center managed by the Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS), with a residential medical officer is a vital feature of the campus. The SIHS has a team of specialist doctors who conduct the (compulsory) annual health check-up. Every student is insured under the Mediclaim and Road Traffic Accident Policy up to Rs. 50,000.SIHS also provides an in-house, modern, state-of-the-art Health Club and Fitness Center that offers yoga and meditation as part of the curriculum.


To beat the heat and for rejuvenating yourself symbiosis campus gives you the facility of an Indoor pool. After hectic schedule of an MBA student, only thing which you will look forward is a nice swim to get you "Up and Running"....

The entire campus of SIIB along with hostels is connected through Wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) with a leased line of 8 Mbps. One can enjoy a smooth connectivity at every nook and corner of the college as well as hostel area. We are living in a technological era and we do not want our students to miss any opportunity.
SIIB enables its students to be updated with latest technology and trends and WI-FI helps them in getting the latest information through internet. Apart from college campus the facility is also available inside the hostel as well and students can complete their projects and assignments with the help of internet.


IT Facility
